Kade Ruotolo says he won’t be where he is today without the aid of twin brother Tye: “That’s super important”
ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion Kade Ruotolo said that where he and his twin brother are today is because they have one another to turn to in going for their martial arts dreams. It has always been the case and he would not have it any other way.
Currently among the top BJJ athletes in the world, Ruotolo said Tye, who is the ONE welterweight submission grappling king, has been a steady companion for him in his martial arts journey.
They have been feeding off one another and it has resulted in significant windfall for them in various shapes and sizes through the course of the years.
In an interview with Karyn Bryant on YouTube, Kade Ruotolo, 21, shared what the dynamic has been between him and Tye, and the significant role it has played in achieving the success they have had.
The Atos standout said:
"I say it all the time, you know, my brother and I both, there's no way we'd be where we're at today without each other. I always tell people that if you don't have a twin brother then you got to find a best friend that loves the same things, and you guys got to bounce off each other like a teammate or whatever. So I think that's super important for everybody to find that partner."

Kade and Tye Ruotolo have continued to find success in ONE Championship, where they have been undefeated since coming on board in 2022.
Apart from winning world titles in different divisions under the promotion, they have also won a number of $50,000 performance bonuses between them which they have used to provide for their family as well as build a dream training facility in Costa Rica.
Kade Ruotolo to make MMA debut in ONE 167
Kade Ruotolo continues with his evolution as a martial artist when he makes his mixed martial arts debut in his next match in June.
The long-time BJJ athlete and reigning ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion will dip his hands in the multi-faceted sport of MMA for the first time at ONE 167: Tawanchai vs Nattawut on June 7 in Bangkok, Thailand.
He is up against Hawaii fighter Blake Cooper, who is looking to bounce back after losing in his promotional debut last September.
In an interview with the South China Morning Post earlier this year, Kade Ruotolo intimated that MMA is something he has long wanted to do, in line with his push to widen his horizons as a fighter.
He said:
"I just want to get into the water and finally make that debut. It's been a long time that I've been wanting to do that. I've wanted to [do this] for a while."
Also looking to make a foray in MMA at some point is his twin brother Tye Ruotolo.
ONE 167 will take place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok and will be available live and for free in U.S. primetime to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
