"There were some tough days on the set for some actors" - Kamaru Usman explains the emotional impact Chadwick Boseman's absence had on filming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Kamaru Usman is set to appear in the upcoming film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The No.1-ranked welterweight recently shared how it was to work with the cast following the tragic passing of actor Chadwick Boseman.
During a recent appearance on DC & RC, Usman revealed that Boseman left a lasting impact on the film crew and even described it as an "emotional journey" for some of the actors involved in the first movie:
"It was just the whole energy, the whole life of the movie, the whole life of the set shooting. It was an emotional journey for all those actors and actresses that were there on set because, and I wasn't around for the first movie, but being a part of the second one you got to see how much he meant to the movie and how much he actually had his hands in the making of the movie."
Usman added:
"It was very emotional. I mean shooting some of the scenes, there were some tough days on set with some of the actors and actresses because they were so connected to him and everything that he meant to that franchise."
Boseman, who starred as T'Challa in the original Black Panther film, released in 2018, tragically passed away in 2020 after a battle with cancer. Diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016, the Academy Award-nominated actor refused to let his battle slow his career down as some of his most famous roles were filmed following his diagnosis.
