Kamaru Usman outlines Jake Paul's path to victory in hypothetical boxing match against Alex Pereira, says 'Poatan' "holds his hands very low"

Kamaru Usman recently weighed in on a hypothetical boxing match between Jake Paul and Alex Pereira and outlined a potential path to victory for the YouTuber-turned-boxer. He analyzed 'The Problem Child's' most recent performance against Mike Perry and noted which areas of his game could pose a threat to 'Poatan' in a boxing match.

Following his sixth-round TKO win over Perry, 'The Problem Child' turned his attention to his next bout against Mike Tyson and then issued a callout to the former two-division Glory Kickboxing champion. Paul then chatted with Pereira on a FaceTime call and expressed interest in challenging the Brazilian because of his meteoric rise in the UFC.

On the latest episode of his Pound 4 Pound podcast, the former UFC welterweight champion stated that he believes 'The Problem Child' would have a chance against 'Poatan.' Usman mentioned that Paul could pose a threat to Pereira because of the Brazilian's tendencies with his striking. He said:

"I don't think it's an unwinnable fight for Jake Paul...Yes, I know Alex Pereira is very good in doing the thing that was giving Mike Perry success in that fight and that's slip-rip...slip-counter. But Pereira also holds his hands very low. That head moves when he's slipping and ripping but other than that, it's not like it's constantly moving...I'm not completely counting Jake Paul out of the fight even though I think Alex Pereira wins."

Kamaru Usman weighs in on Jake Paul's size difference against Mike Perry

Kamaru Usman also weighed on the size difference that Jake Paul had against Mike Perry.

'The Problem Child' looked considerably larger than Perry and the difference in power was noticeable. During the aforementioned episode, Usman mentioned that he would have liked to see the competitors compete at a different weight to ensure there wasn't a greater advantage. He said:

"I want to see a fair weight. I want to see that because by the time Jake Paul got in there, it looked like a heavyweight fighting a welterweight, a UFC welterweight. You know, Mike Perry is 195 [pounds]...And Jake Paul's a big dude that packs a lot of power and I felt like there was a disparity." [2:19 - 2:58]
