Kamaru Usman reacts to college wrestler claiming he would beat Alex Pereira

Alex Pereira is seen as beatable by a fan who claimed to be a college wrestler and Kamaru Usman responded to this suggestion.

The footage of this was initially posted by @pauselifetv on Instagram and was then later shared by @espnmma. An unidentified man at UFC 302 was asked on camera if there was one UFC fighter he thought he could beat if he was able to train for a full camp. The individual then responded to this question by stating:

"Alright so and I'm being honest here, it is a hundred percent Alex Pereira. Because that guy is; and if anyone knows how to wrestle against him. I'm a collegiate wrestler. If anyone knows how to wrestle against him, it's over. I understand he can knock you out with any punches."
"But if you look at people that try to take him down, people take him down with ease. Because I don't; he doesn't know anything about wrestling and he won't be the champ much longer at 205 if he gets a wrestler in there."

Usman would be one of many who responded to this bold claim and he expressed himself clearly while not using a single word.

The former UFC welterweight champion posted several laughing emojis to indicate the absurdity of this fan/ purported wrestler stating he could beat the only man in UFC history to have been a middleweight champion in the promotion and also become a light heavyweight titleholder.

Alex Pereira and how Daniel Cormier has assessed Poatan's wrestling

Alex Pereira has done some incredible things in a relatively short run with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. In April following Pereira's last fight at UFC 300, Daniel Cormier seemed almost baffled at the successes the Brazilian has been having with a seemingly not that refined game.

DC asked aloud on his show Good Guy, Bad Guy with Chael Sonnen about how Pereira has been able to do all this when 'he can't wrestle'.

The 36-year-old seemed to garner a modicum of respect from his fellow UFC champ-champ compatriot just weeks after. Both Pereira and Cormier were at UFC 301 in Rio de Janeiro with the former wrestling the latter to the ground in a playful backstage interaction.

'Poatan' received some tongue-in-cheek praise by DC who stated Pereira could make the US Olympic team. Cormier did get a little more earnest on his aforementioned GGBG show by praising the anti-wrestling and how he negates submission opportunities from opponents.

The native of Sao Paulo state next fights at the end of the month when Alex Pereira rematches Jiri Prochazka for the former's 205-pound belt in the UFC 303 main event.
