Kamaru Usman shares thoughts on Joaquin Buckley vs. Colby Covington, says 'Chaos' "didn't look bad"
Kamaru Usman recently weighed in on the UFC Tampa main event between Joaquin Buckley and Colby Covington and shared his thoughts on his former foe's performance. 'The Nigerian Nightmare' was in the arena keeping a close eye on the bout, especially considering that it was significant for his weight division.
'New Mansa' earned an impressive third-round TKO win via doctor's stoppage after the cageside doctor determined that 'Chaos' couldn't continue due to a cut on his right eyelid. With the win, Buckley extended his winning streak to six consecutive wins and inserted himself in the top-five conversations at 170 pounds.
During the latest episode of Pound 4 Pound, the former welterweight champion gave props to Buckley for earning an impressive win over 'Chaos' and shutting down his wrestling for the most part. Usman mentioned it was a great fight, but believed Covington was affected by the cut:
"Everybody knows as the fight gets later, Covington gets a little bit more comfortable. So it was going to be how quick he was able to get the ring rust off and get going and Buckley didn't really allow him to do that. It looked like there was times it was back-and-forth and it looked liked Covington was coming back... So he didn't look bad."

Kamaru Usman reaffirms willingness to fight any top welterweight contender
In addition to discussing the UFC Tampa main event between Joaquin Buckley and Colby Covington, Kamaru Usman reaffirmed his willingness to fight any of the top welterweight contenders upon his return to the octagon.
During the aforementioned episode, Usman opened up on constantly being criticized as a fighter ducking other top contenders in his division. He also responded to Buckley's post-fight callout by promising to come after all of the contenders when he is healthy:
"Buckley, Garry, 'JDM', Shavkat, it doesn't matter... It seems like every week we get on here and I have to do this, no one's listening. When I'm healthy, I'll whoop everyone of y'all, doesn't matter who it is. I've gone through this division and then I started going through the division again, so it doesn't matter." [7:01]
