Kelvin Gastelum calls for his dream Francis Ngannou superfight
Kelvin Gastelum weighs in on Francis Ngannou's departure from the UFC and what could possibly be next for the former heavyweight champion.
Gastelum took to Twitter to call for a massive heavyweight clash as 'The Predator's next fight outside of the UFC. He mentioned that Ngannou should make the move to boxing and go after one of the biggest names in boxing:
"I personally, would love to see @francis_ngannou face off against Tyson Fury. What a spectacle that would be."
The former TUF winner is among many who would like to see 'The Predator' and 'The Gypsy King' throw down in the boxing ring. It would be interesting to see whether Ngannou will carry his thunderous power in the ring that he enjoys in the cage, as the former necessitates the use of relatively more padded gloves.
Many echoed the UFC middleweight's sentiments and agreed that a Fury vs. Ngannou fight would be great, while others offered some interesting alternatives:
"Would be epic. At Wembley Stadium."
"Much rather see him vs Wilder. That's a fight where you at least can convince Francis might have a chance. No idea how he defeats Fury."
"I’d rather see him vs deontay wilder I think he’s got a better chance , fury is technical , fought a lot of big punchers don’t like ngannous chances"
Kelvin Gastelum and Conor McGregor go back and forth on social media
Kelvin Gastelum and Conor McGregor got into a war of words after the former two-division UFC champion reacted to the injury that forced the middleweight to pull out of his UFC Vegas 67 main event fight.
'Mystic Mac' put the former TUF winner on blast and called him out on his Instagram story. McGregor criticized Gastelum for having a staph infection on his face due to poor hygiene.
The 31-year-old responded on his Twitter account, writing:
"Relax u lil leprechaun. The coke and steroids are kicking in."
It remains to be seen how long the former TUF winner will be out of action.
