Kevin Holland discloses reason he isn't staying at fighter hotel, says he doesn't want to get "in trouble" for fighting Joaquin Buckley
Kevin Holland recently disclosed why he's not staying at the fighter hotel for UFC 307 and noted that it has to do with a rift with Joaquin Buckley. They are both competing on the card, and wanted to avoid the risk of an altercation.
'Trailblazer' is scheduled to kick off the main card against Roman Dolidze in a middleweight bout, while 'New Mansa' is scheduled to compete against former welterweight title challenger Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson in the prelim headliner. Holland and Buckley are no strangers to each other as they fought in 2020, which saw the former earn a third-round TKO victory.
During his pre-fight media availability ahead of this Saturday's pay-per-view, 'Trailblazer' set the record straight and said that he doesn't want to be the reason why a fight falls through. Holland mentioned that he would most likely face disciplinary actions should their paths cross:
"I figured if I beat the fu** out of [Joaquin] Buckley before the fight happens, you guys lose a fight and I get in trouble. So you want the truth? I'll give you the truth...It's not beef, that motherfu**r's chicken. Bro, he's chicken, two different meats." [0:34 - 0:50]

Kevin Holland shares prediction for Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson vs. Joaquin Buckley
In addition to sounding off on Joaquin Buckley, Kevin Holland shared the prediction for his bout against Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson at UFC 307.
During the aforementioned availability, 'Trailblazer' noted that he isn't too optimistic about 'Wonderboy's chances and believes 'New Mansa' is a bad matchup for him. Holland mentioned that Buckley will avoid striking exchanges with Thompson and likely pick up his fifth consecutive win:
"I don't understand why 'Wonderboy' [Thompson] would want to do that fight [against Buckley]. 'Wonderboy' at one point in time, wanted somebody who was just gonna strike with him. Buckley's not gonna just strike with him. So therefore, 'Wonderboy's probably gonna lose that fight." [1:20 - 1:28]
