Kevin Holland gives an update about his hand injury post-surgery

Kevin Holland recently gave an update on his hand injury.

Holland locked horns with Stephen Thompson in a welterweight matchup at the headlining event of UFC Orlando. Contrary to expectations, the duo delivered an exhilarating performance. Ultimately, 'Wonderboy' got his hands raised after delivering a TKO defeat to the 'Trailblazer'. The loss came after Holland's corner threw in the towel owing to a hand injury incurred by the 30-year-old fighter.

Holland's manager Oren Hodak stated that the 'Trailblazer' suffered several fractures to the metacarpal bones of his right hand while landing a punch on 'Wonderboy' during the first round.

Kevin Holland is currently on a two-fight losing streak in the promotion and holds a pro-MMA record of 23 wins and 9 losses. Prior to his fight against Thompson, he fought Khamzat Chimaev in a catchweight bout at UFC 279. Chimaev took home the win after defeating the 'Trailblazerazer' via submission at the 2:13 mark of the first round.

Sean O'Malley Calls Out Kevin Holland for Missing Opportunity Against Stephen Thompson

UFC bantamweight contender Sean O'Malley recently shared his reactions to the recently concluded fight between Holland and Thompson at UFC Orlando.

At one point in the intense fight, Holland managed to bring 'Wonderboy' to the ground but did not attempt any strikes, allowing Thompson to stand up again as they had agreed before the match.

Expressing his opinion, O'Malley stated that Holland should have taken advantage of the opportunity to take Thompson to the ground instead of allowing him to get back up:

"Kevin Holland takes Stephen Thompson on the ground... let's him up after getting pieced up. Not the smartest move. Kevin Holland wanted to give the fans what they wanted, a striking battle. But in those moments, you've got to f**ing take advantage of them."
