Kevin Holland issues definitive prediction for upcoming Vicente Luque fight at UFC 316

Kevin Holland will take on Vicente Luque in the first fight of the UFC 316 main card this Saturday. Ahead of the bout, Holland has expressed confidence that he will finish Luque convincingly.

'Trailblazer' is 1-1 in the UFC in 2025. In his first fight of the year, Holland faced defeat to Reinier de Ridder at UFC 311, however, he bounced back with a win over Gunnar Nelson at UFC London.

In the media day interview for UFC 316, Holland was asked to share his thoughts on facing Luque. In response, he said:

"Hopefully [Luque] can tap into his old self and show up. He usually takes punishment very well and then delivers punishment right back. I'm a little longer than some of the guys he's faced before. I know that he's fought some tall guys, but he never fought a long guy like me."

He added:

"I expect it to go my way, 100%. Had this been a few years ago, then I'd probably tell you it'd be a true barnburner... but, 100% my way... I plan on going out there that [chin] early, and I don't think he gets back up."

Vicente Luque responds to Kevin Holland's comments ahead of UFC 316

Vicente Luque is set to make his first UFC appearance of the year at UFC 316. In his last two fights, Luque's record is similar to that of 'Trailblazer'.

Soon after Holland made his prediction about their upcoming fight, Luque was asked to react during his media day interview for UFC 316. In response, 'The Silent Assassin' said:

"Well, keep an eye open on Saturday, you guys will see if I'm ready or not for war. I'm excited. It's a big fight and a challenging opponent. I like it. He's gonna take out the best out of me for sure." [h/t: MMA Junkie]
