Kevin Holland responds after fan asks 'Trailblazer' to "go up to 205" and fight Alex Pereira
UFC star Kevin Holland isn't too keen on moving up to 205 pounds and facing reigning light heayweight champion Alex Pereira, despite what fans have to say. Holland took to Instagram to announce that he would be moving between the welterweight and middleweight divisions, as he has done in the past.
In the comments section of the same post, a fan urged Holland to move up to light heavyweight and fight Pereira. The fan wrote:
"Go up to 205 and fight Alex"
Holland issued a one word response, saying:
"chill"

Holland is scheduled to face Roman Dolidze at UFC 307, with the bout set to be contested at middleweight. Although the 31-year-old has had a better run at welterweight, he didn't flinch while moving up to 185-pounds to take on the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev, whom he fought on short notice at UFC 279 in Sept. 2022. Unfortunately for Holland, he ended up losing to 'Borz.'
Kevin Holland encouraged Jon Jones to fight Alex Pereira
As a fan of moving up weight classes, Kevin Holland expressed his desire to see two MMA stalwarts fight each other. Ever since Alex Pereira successfully conquered two-weight divisions with relative ease, there have been rumblings about the Brazilian jumping another weight class and challenging Jon 'Bones' Jones.
Holland also hopped on the bandwagon, and made it clear that he believes legends should fight each other, and that if anyone had a chance at dethroning Jones, it has to be 'Poatan.'
Speaking on The Barnhill Brothers Show, 'Trailblazer' made it clear that a fight between Jones and Pereira is must-see television.
He said:
"Tom's [Aspinall] doing a great job. Tom's gonna end up becoming heavyweight king. Great. Fantastic, that's wonderful. Props for Tom. And it's like not everybody needs to fight the legend and legends need to fight legends...Maybe Tom Aspinall is the person to beat Jon Jones. I don't fu**ing want to see it. If Jon Jones is going to lose to anybody, it needs to be Alex Pereira."
