Khamzat Chimaev "cannot" jump the line and fight Alex Pereira for middleweight title: Glover Teixeira
Glover Teixeira recently shared his opinion on a potential Khamzat Chimaev vs. Alex Pereira fight. According to the former light heavyweight champion, the Chechen-born Swede shouldn't be allowed to skip the line as he needs to work his way up to Pereira.
Pereira secured a shocking win against Israel Adesanya at UFC 281 to claim the middleweight title and certainly seems to have benefitted from training at Teixeira's gym in Connecticut, Teixeira MMA, and Fitness.
The two Brazilians can be seen regularly training together and certainly have a lot to offer to each other in different aspects of the sport. Unsurprisingly, Teixeira cornered 'Poatan' during his fight against Adesanya.
Watch them train together in the post below:
Soon after his title victory, 'Poatan' found himself being called out by Khamzat Chimaev. The grappling phenom fighting out of Sweden was not impressed with Pereira's performance in the octagon and took the opportunity to fire shots at the newly crowned champion.

However, Teixeira is not convinced. The 43-year-old recently stated in an interview with Helen Yee that 'Borz' hasn't earned his shot at Pereira yet:
"I don't know, he [Khamzat Chimaev] can't miss weight in one division and then come back and fight for the title right away. He's got to work his way up there... The talk helps to get there, but the way I see it, go there and do the work man. You cannot come from 170 and jump in. He's not the champ at 170 or anything."

Darren Till believes Khamzat Chimaev will "overpower" Colby Covington ahead of their potential welterweight clash
Darren Till has predicted Khamzat Chimaev will make easy work of Colby Covington if and when they fight. The pair struck up one of the most unexpected friendships in MMA earlier this year when they began training together. The Chechen-born Swede will probably be seen in Till's corner for his bout against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 282.
While it is unlikely that Chimaev will get a shot at the middleweight title against Alex Pereira soon, it seems like the UFC is keen to match up 'Borz' against the ever-polarizing 'Chaos' in a welterweight bout. Dana White confirmed the same at a UFC 281 post-fight presser.

Recently, in a UFC 282 pre-fight presser, Till was asked about his prediction for a potential clash between the two welterweights. The Englishman stated:
"I think that's a very good fight, I do, because people don't see a lot of Colby in the media, but I know he's a guy who in secret trains really f***ing hard. If them two fight, I think Khamzat would be... I think he'd [Khamzat Chimaev] overpower him. I believe his striking is better and I think when it comes to wrestling, he'll be the powerful one."
