Khamzat Chimaev responds with stale argument to Jorge Masvidal's recent slander
Jorge Masivdal has joined the chorus of critics in light of Khamzat Chimaev's allegedly unprofessional conduct at UFC 279. While Chimaev's dominant UFC run has sent shockwaves across the MMA community, not all fighters are convinced by his bold claims that he can defeat anyone in the welterweight or middleweight division.
At UFC 287 next month, Jorge Masvidal will return to action to take on Gilbert Burns in the co-main event. The event will go down in his hometown on April 8, 2023, at the Miami-Dade Arena in Miami, Florida, United States.
Khamzat Chimaev recently stated that he is optimistic about his chances against middleweight champion Alex Pereira due to the Brazilian's lack of grappling experience. 'Borz' believes that his wrestling prowess will be too much for Pereira to handle and made a brazen claim to finish him in the first round.
Jorger Masvidal responded to Chimaev's comments on a recent episode of The MMA Hour, lambasting the Chechen-Swede for missing weight by 8.5 lbs. at UFC 279:
"I saw him do a comment that he was calling out [middleweight champion Alex] Pereira, like who the f**k are you? This is the world champion and you don't even have a f**king win over a top-15 guy. Get the f**k out of here at 185. Go f**king be like the rest of us, put your hard hat on, put your mouthpiece on, and get to work... You can't miss weight by 8.5 pounds and call for title shots... Go fight and then talk."
Needless to say, Khamzat Chimaev responded to Masvidal's slander with a stale argument under the comments section of an Instagram post on MMA Fighting. Chimaev wrote:
"He [Jorge Masvidal] is no longer a gangster talking about weight gangsters no matter what weight he fights."

Jorge Masvidal claims that Shavkat Rakhmonov can "break" Khamzat Chimaev
Shavkat Rakhmonov and Khamzat Chimaev are easily two of the brightest prospects to emerge in the UFC in recent times. Both fighters have undefeated professional MMA careers and boast championship caliber.
Fight fans have long speculated on how a potential fight between the two would unfold, given that they are both well-rounded in all aspects of the game.
Veteran UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal reacted to the idea of the matchup in a recent interview with Full Violence. He stated:
“I think he [Shavkat Rakhmonov] breaks Chimaev, bro. I’m not too much of a believer in Chimaev…He’s [Chimaev] big for the weight class and could wrestle well, but if you get a guy like that, they can wrestle back with him and have hands. I think Chimaev will know and he's going to have to prove me wrong. I don’t see it in that dude, bro. I’m good at sniffing out the hype and I would say hype-master bro…”
