Kiamran Nabati on decision to call out Muay Thai icon Nong-O: “I don’t want to fight against no-name fighters”

Russian prospect Kiamran Nabati doesn't have time for no-name fights.

On Friday, September 27, Nabati will get anything but that when he meets one of the biggest names in the history of Muay Thai—Nong-O Hama. The two warriors will go toe-to-toe inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium when ONE Championship presents ONE Friday Fights 81 live on pay-per-view.

After earning a trio of wins under the ONE banner against Pongsiri, Avatar PK Saenchai, and Suablack, Kiamran Nabati knew it was time to start calling out the best of the best.

"Brother, because I need to fight against the best fighters," Nabati told the South China Morning Post when asked why he chose to call out Nong-O. 'I don’t want to fight against no-name fighters. I need big names."

Overall, Nabati is a perfect 21-0 in his Muay Thai career. With a win over Nong-O, he'll not only keep his 'O' intact, but he'll also establish himself as a legitimate contender for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship.

While Kiamran Nabati is more than confident in his ability to get the job done, he knows it'll be no easy task against a legend like Nong-O who has more than 300 career fights under his belt.

With that said, Nabati is ready to go wherever the fight goes and will strive to deliver another highlight-reel finish in front of a raucous crowd inside the Mecca of Muay Thai.

“I will be ready for all three rounds and for all scenarios, the bad and the good ones," Nabati told the promotion. "In any situation, I will try to end this fight on my terms.”
