Kiamran Nabati says he’s been trying to get into ONE Championship for a long time: “I’ve come a long and difficult way”
Russian striker Kiamran Nabati long sought to be part of ONE Championship and now that he is with the 'Home of Martial Arts', he is basking in every opportunity that is presented to him under the promotion.
The 29-year-old Archangel Michel affiliate made his promotional debut in September last year and has racked up three straight victories since. His most recent win was an impressive knockout in the first round of Thai Suablack Tor Pran49 back in June to underscore his standing as an emerging force in the bantamweight Muay Thai division.
In an interview with ONE Championship, he shared the journey he had to make to be where he is now and how grateful he is, saying:
"I've been trying to get into ONE for a long time. I've come a long and difficult way to be here, and now, I am fighting the top opponents."
Before joining ONE Championship, Nabati made a name for himself in the Russian Muay Thai circuit, winning several titles.
Kiamran Nabati looking to take ONE journey to another level with win over Nong-O Hama
Kiamran Nabati is looking to take his burgeoning ONE Championship career to a whole new level with a victory in his scheduled match later this month in Thailand.
The Russian powerhouse is set to take on Thai legend and former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama at ONE Friday Fights 81: Superbon vs. Nattawut on Sept. 27 in Bangkok's famed Lumpinee Stadium.
Nabati is out to add Nong-O to his list of conquered opponents in ONE to advance his push in the bantamweight Muay Thai division and earn world title consideration at some point.
Looking to foil his thrust is Nong-O, the former divisional king who is looking to make another go at the world title now held by newly minted double ONE world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9.
The Nong-O-Nabati clash is part of the 11-match ONE Friday Fights 81, which is headlined by the featherweight Muay Thai showdown between Thai starfighters Superbon and 'Smokin' Jo Nattawut.
