"Kill or be killed" - Bobby 'King' Green shares his thoughts on losing to Paddy Pimblett in first round at UFC 304
Bobby 'King' Green returned to the octagon at UFC 304 as the No.15-ranked lightweight attempted to defend his spot in the rankings against Paddy Pimblett. 'King' suffered a first-round submission loss, as he was put to sleep via triangle choke. He shared his reaction to the bout, refraining from making any excuses for his performance.
Green took to his Instagram story on Monday, stating:
"What a day. Thank you guys for checking in on me. I'm okay, I guess. You know, s**t happens. I feel like I slipped into some s**t and it just all went the perfect way. I had a bad night. No excuses. S**t happens. I live by a code: kill or be killed. Today, I got killed. Let the ridicule begin. You know, I know what comes with this. You guys can talk your s**t. I know what comes with this. Let's go."
While many expected Green to look to keep the fight on the feet, he inexplicably shot for a takedown midway through the first round. The decision was the beginning of the end for 'King' as he was quickly put to sleep via triangle choke submission after taking the fight to the ground.
Pimblett has expressed an interest in facing Renato Moicano with the opportunity to move into the top 10 of the lightweight rankings. It is unclear what will come next for Green after the tough defeat.
