“Killer champ” - Fans show their love for Danielle Kelly’s impressive display of heart against Jessa Khan
The coronation of ONE atomweight submission grappling world champion Danielle Kelly in September 2023 at ONE Fight Night 14 has brought inspiration to everyone to continue pushing for their dreams.
This was the same message that Kelly conveyed in a recent Instagram post, where she posted highlights of her victory over Jessa Khan. Captioning the post, she wrote:
"That time when they said I woudn't last with world champions or not a high level grappler at all. Took a lot of hard losses and used it as motivation. It's never easy but always room for improvement 💪🏻 don't let people say you can't achieve anything. First ever atomweight 115 champion @onechampionship"
The video highlighted the revenge of Kelly over Khan, who defeated her in their first meeting in 2021, where he sustained a decision loss at Who's Number One. Two years later, she returned the favor, but this time, on a bigger stage and with a higher stake, to become the inaugural queen of the division.
The Silver Fox BJJ representative's fans and followers were equally inspired by her championship triumph as platform users @nogi_chunli, @ella_jiu_jitsu, @themagnificientmike, and @5co7ch showered positive messages through their comments:
"Killer champ! 😍🔥👏"
"❤️❤️❤️ the only person that can beat you is you. Stay focused and believe in yourself always. Look how far that has gotten you already!"
"Great use of the cage 🙌"
"It's been an amazing story to follow and look at you now, for me when you beat Rose was a landmark, bittersweet as she was my fave but followed you the wholw time and you are more than deserved of all your achievements, what's next champ? @daniellekellybjj"
