"Kingslayer" Paddy Pimblett mocks "mushroom" Bobby Green for officially changing his name to "King"
Paddy Pimblett has not competed since defeating Tony Ferguson via unanimous decision at UFC 296 last December. The unranked lightweight contender is set to make his return later this month when he faces Bobby Green at UFC 304, marking his first bout in the United Kingdom in over two years.
'The Baddy' recently reacted to news that his opponent has legally changed his name to 'King'.
Pimblett took to Instagram on Sunday to share a photoshopped photo of himself as Games of Thrones character Jaime Lannister, who is nicknamed 'Kingslayer', captioning the post:
"This mushroom has actually changed his name to King🤣 so yous can officially call me the Kingslayer on July 28th 👑🗡️🤗"

Pimblett will look for his sixth consecutive win in the UFC when the two clash at UFC 304. However, his winning streak has not been without controversy as many believed that he lost to Jared Gordon at UFC 282 despite winning via unanimous decision.
The Liverpudlian will have his first opportunity to crack the lightweight divisional rankings if he can get past Green.
Paddy Pimblett believes Ilia Topuria is scared of Max Holloway
Paddy Pimblett has feuded with Ilia Topuria since the two were involved in a scuffle at the fighter hotel ahead of UFC Fight Night 204 in March 2022. The unranked lightweight contender recently revealed that he believes the featherweight champion is avoiding a bout with No.2-ranked featherweight Max Holloway.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, 'The Baddy' was asked about the potential matchup, responding:
"I think I've got the same as everyone. Everyone's picking Max, you know what I mean? Hand sanitizer boy is scared to take the fight. He doesn't want to take the fight against Max because he knows what will happen. He fought Volkanovski at the perfect time. Coming back off of getting knocked out like ten weeks later. He got lucky there, to be honest."

Pimblett and Topuria were seemingly headed towards a clash as the latter was fighting at lightweight on that card. Despite both fighters winning at UFC Fight Night 204 - and winning three bouts in the time since - 'El Matador' has gone on to capture the featherweight title, while 'The Baddy' will get his first opportunity to enter the lightweight rankings when he faces Bobby Green at UFC 304 later this month.
