KSI cancels his fight with Slim and Anthony Taylor due to injury: "I can no longer spar or even hit pads"
KSI's two-on-one boxing match with Slim and Anthony Taylor is no longer taking place, with the influencer boxing sensation revealing that an injury has forced him to withdraw from the bout. He took to X/Twitter to disclose his reason for pulling out of the bout.
He did not disclose the nature of his injury, only that it was not toe-related in a clear dig at Conor McGregor. Unfortunately, the pain the aforementioned injury has caused him is such that he can no longer spar or even do padwork. Nevertheless, the event will proceed as planned, just without him as the headliner.
A snippet of the boxer-rapper's statement can be read below:
"I have some important news to share and I wanted you to hear it directly from me. The fight with Slim and AT is off. I have been battling with an injury (not my toe lol) since I began training for this fight and unfortunately this has worsened during camp which is why you haven't seen my usual enthusiasm. Despite my best efforts to push through the pain, it has reached a point where I can no longer spar or even hit pads or do bag work."
Due to his injury, KSI followed his doctor's advice and withdrew from the Misfits 017 event altogether, which is set for an Aug. 31 date at The O2 arena.
While he won't be fighting, the Englisman will be at the commentary desk and is also set to perform some of his own songs.
KSI has been linked to a boxing match with Jake Paul for years
Despite the animosity between KSI and Jake Paul, a boxing match has never materialized.
Both men have offered up a litany of excuses as to why they have yet to settle their feud inside the ring. Unfortunately, it will likely never happen due to their different priorities.
KSI is still very much a YouTuber, with a popular channel. Moreover, he is also a rapper and active businessman.
Paul, meanwhile, is primarily a boxer and does little else, as he is determined to become a world champion. First, though, he must get past Mike Tyson later this year.
