Lauren Murphy compares lopsided beatdown from Jessica Andrade to Zhang Weili vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk, defends corner for not throwing in the towel

Lauren Murphy faced Jessica Andrade in a flyweight contest at UFC 283 in Brazil, and the American was subjected to a beatdown that resulted in a unanimous decision loss at the end of three brutal rounds.

During and after her bout, many fans and fighters expressed their concerns for her health and were shocked at her corner for not throwing in the towel. However, Murphy wants to hear none of it and recently took to Twitter to defend her corner. 'Lucky' penned a long passionate message to all those who thought the fight should have been stopped.

Lauren Murphy reminded fans of other instances where the context was allowed to continue despite fighters taking grave damage and compared her situation to that of Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Zhang Weili at UFC 248 and wrote:

"These guys are some of the best coaches I've ever had. I'm so grateful they let me fight till the end. I AM tough..."

She continued in the next tweet:

"Where were these people when Joanna looked like f*****g Megamind in her fight with Weili?? If they’re concerned for safety, why weren’t they screaming for her to be pulled? Competitive or not, shouldn’t her “safety” have come first? Miss me with this double standard BS."
