Leon Edwards fires back at Kamaru Usman for claiming he is still the better fighter despite KO loss at UFC 278
Leon Edwards has hit back at those saying Kamaru Usman is still the better fighter out of the pair despite the Englishman knocking him out in their UFC 278 showdown.
Usman has also said something along the same lines, previously claiming to clearly be a greater mixed martial artist than Leon Edwards.
In a GQ interview, Edwards hit back, saying:
"You can think what you want to think. The proof is in the pudding. I'm the champ, we all know who the champ is. I knocked you out. That's who the champ is." (1:12-1:20)

Given that Usman dominated Edwards in their first fight back in 2015 and appeared to be in cruise control up until he got finished in their rematch, many fans believe Usman is genuinely the better fighter.
Leon Edwards, however, got the last laugh and viciously stopped Usman to become the welterweight champion.

Leon Edwards looks to defend his belt against Kamaru Usman at UFC 286 in London
Kamaru Usman will be heading to London looking for revenge as he aims to win his welterweight strap from Leon 'Rocky' Edwards. After being dominated for the majority of their second fight, Edwards stunned the world with a head-kick KO to become the welterweight champion.
Usman appears to have taken the loss well and says that it lit a fire under him. He belives in his abilities and is confident heading into their trilogy bout. In the Anatomy of a Fighter promo for UFC 286, Usman said:
"It's a matter of me still remembering who I am, going in there and being mindful of what has happened. But ultimately, reminding him who he is. Who he's less than."
