Leon Edwards open to facing Islam Makhachev during UFC career, Mike Perry appears to accuse Jake Paul of using steroids and Michael Chandler outlines strategy against Conor McGregor.

Find out more details in today's (July 10) Sportskeeda daily news roundup.

#3 Leon Edwards open to facing Islam Makhachev in a future UFC bout

Leon Edwards recently outlined his plans for the future, which includes a potential showdown against Islam Makhachev and a move to middleweight.

'Rocky' is currently preparing to defend his welterweight title against Belal Muhammad at the upcoming UFC 303 pay-per-view in Manchester, England.

In a recent interview with talkSPORT, however, it appears as though Edwards is already looking past 'Remember the Name'. Edwards revealed he expects to face the UFC lightweight champ in the future, but only after they both have achieved what they want in their respective divisions. He said:

"For sure for sure, I feel like we’ve both got work to do within our division…We’re both on similar paths so I can see that happening in the future"

He continued:

"I would like to move up as well and challenge for middleweight belt.”

#2 Mike Perry seemingly accuses Jake Paul of steroid use

Mike Perry has revealed he is suspicious of Jake Paul's recent weight gain, ahead of their upcoming boxing bout. The pair are set to meet inside the squared circle in a cruiserweight bout on July 20, following the news that Mike Tyson has pushed back his fight against 'The Problem Child'.

Ahead of Perry's clash against Paul, 'Platinum' spoke to FightHub TV and shared his thoughts on Jake Paul's current physique, suggesting it could potentially be due to performance-enhancing drugs (PED). The former UFC star referenced when he previously sparred against Paul and said:

“When I sparred him a couple years ago, I was 180 and he was 195, maybe 205, I think he was about to fight Ben Askren [at 190], I don’t think he was really cutting weight at the time. And so to put on 25 pounds, I don’t know how someone does it without a cheat code.”

He continued:

“It doesn’t matter to me... I could just be saying that just to mess with him. He does look flubbery.” [H/t: MMA Mania]

#1 Michael Chandler lets loose about his strategy for Conor McGregor

Michael Chandler has refused to hold back after he recently outlined his new strategy for Conor McGregor.

The two lightweight stars were due to headline UFC 303 last month but the Irishman was forced out of the fight through injury. Their bout is still in the works, however, and a new date is expected to be confirmed before the end of the year.

Chandler then took to X to respond to a fan who asked him about his strategy for the now-delayed bout. 'Iron' then pulled no punches in his response, boldly claiming he plans to retire McGregor without throwing a single strike. He wrote:

"Instill fear...let him pull out of the fight and embarrass himself, be known as the guy who retired McGregor without ever throwing a punch..."
