“Let everyone watch” - Mikey Musumeci says competing against Kade Ruotolo a better idea than training with him
Reigning and undisputed ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion 'Darth Rigatoni' Mikey Musumeci of the United States recently revealed that he had always wanted to train with BJJ phenoms Tye and Kade Ruotolo.
But when the opportunity to face one of them in competition came up, the Italian-American superstar saw a chance to make history.
Musumeci is getting ready to move up three weight divisions to challenge Kade Ruotolo for his lightweight strap at ONE 168: Denver, and he can't wait to step inside the Circle.
'Darth Rigatoni' told Cageside Press in a recent interview:
"I'm such a fan, so of course, I want to grapple with the best guy in the world. That's how I am. I'm looking to fight the best people. So I've always wanted to train with the Ruotolos. I'm a big fan of them. I'm always like, dude, let's train. So I was like, oh, fuck it. Instead of us just training, let's just do it in the cage. Let everyone watch. It's more fun."
The entire world will be watching this cross-divisional showdown, which has the jiu-jitsu community captivated. Fans won't have to wait long before they see Musumeci and Ruotolo go to war.
