Khamzat Chimaev challenges Gilbert Burns to a rematch in Brazil for UFC 283 at Middleweight

Khamzat Chimaev recently called out Gilbert Burns for a rematch in Brazil.

Khamzat Chimaev first faced Burns in a welterweight fight at UFC 273. 'Borz' faced one of the toughest opponents of his career, as evidenced by the fact that he fought to the third round for the first time. The 28-year-old, however, managed to secure a win against 'Durinho' via unanimous decision.

Following his win over Kevin Holland at UFC 279, Chimaev has been actively campaigning for a fight against reigning middleweight champion Alex Pereira. Taking to his official Instagram handle, 'Borz' stated that he wanted a rematch against Burns at UFC 283 in Brazil in case his fight against Pereira fails to come to fruition.

The Chechen-born Swede wrote:

"If Alex not ready to be killed, let’s go du it again in Brazil 84 kg this time 🤝💯"

With his current record, Chimaev is most likely only one win away from a title shot and could be competing for a UFC championship in 2023. It will be interesting to see who 'Borz' fights before stepping in for the title.
