Joe Rogan talks about overcoming obstacles and stopping procrastination
During a conversation with Steven Pressfield, Joe Rogan put forth his take regarding overcoming obstacles and defeating procrastination.
In a recent edition of the Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan and Pressfield discussed several topics.
The duo notably highlighted the significance of beating the enemy every individual has within themselves -- one that perpetuates laziness, makes them procrastinate, and stops them from succeeding. Steven Pressfield, a widely-revered American author, opined that people must believe in themselves and follow their dreams.
Pressfield suggested that a person ought to have faith that they'll accomplish their goals, adding that they should fight against the resistance their positivity faces. JRE Podcast host and UFC commentator Joe Rogan seemingly concurred with that assessment. Rogan stated:
"Yeah, there's a real value in that. And there's also real value in the way you've sort of defined it and laid it out so people could see it. It's like that old expression -- 'It's okay to have a snake in the room as long as you have the lights on.'"

Steven Pressfield chimed in by noting that he'd never heard of that expression before. Nevertheless, Pressfield lightheartedly indicated that there's surely going to be a snake i.e. obstacles and other challenges to overcome. Rogan replied by saying:
"Yeah, but you turn the lights on. They're like, 'Look. There it is.' Like, it's always going to be there, but let's get over this fu*king thing. Like, and you can do that. And you can do it by showing up every day and putting in the work."

Joe Rogan promotes healthy lifestyle, sounds off against the consumption of processed foods
As evidenced by his aforementioned podcast conversation with Steven Pressfield, Joe Rogan is a strong proponent of overcoming procrastination and getting the better of one's laziness. Moreover, the MMA personality also happens to accord considerable importance to a healthy lifestyle.
Speaking to stunt performer and celebrity Steve-O during a recent JRE episode, Joe Rogan criticized the practice of monoculture/monocropping. The harmful agricultural practice of growing the same crop on a given land year after year purportedly damages the soil and the entire ecosystem.
Additionally, he lambasted the processed food industry for encouraging people to go against the laws of nature. Rogan said:
"We are supposed to be eating organisms in the way that they form in nature. You know the healthy things in nature. Healthy fruits, healthy vegetables, healthy animals, and eggs. That's how you are supposed to eat it."
