Liam Harrison explains why Jonathan Haggerty is a favorite in all-champ clash vs Superlek: “Size advantage, power, and altitude”

Liam Harrison is favoring Jonathan Haggerty to come out on top against Superlek this Friday night.

On September 6, the two-sport king will return to the Circle to put his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship on the line against 'The Kicking Machine' in one of the most anticipated main events of 2024.

Harrison, who will also make his long-awaited comeback at ONE 168: Denver, sat down with the South China Morning Post to explain why he's favoring Jonathan Haggerty to come out on top against Superlek in The Mile High City.

"Size advantage, power, and altitude, this could be pushing him [Haggerty] to be the favorite in my eyes, you know what I mean? If it was eight-ounce gloves Muay Thai in Thailand, it'd be Superlek all day long."

He added:

"But this is ONE Championship rules, four-ounce gloves, it's gonna be a very very hard fight to call."

To properly acclimate himself to the high altitude of Denver, Haggerty arrived in The Centennial State a month ahead of his impending title tilt. Meanwhile, Superlek arrived later than expected, giving him significantly less time to grow accustomed to the increased elevation.

Could that prove to be the difference-maker come fight night?

It's been more than two years since the 'Hitman' last competed inside the Circle, suffering a horrific knee injury against former ONE world champion Nong-O Hama at ONE on Prime Video 1.

Since then, Harrison has undergone extensive knee surgery and a harrowing rehabilitation process.

Finally ready to get back to work, Harrison will face an incredibly tough test against Seksan, who has already earned eight wins under the ONE Championship banner since January 2023.

ONE 168: Denver will air live on Amazon Prime Video in U.S. primetime in both the United States and Canada on Friday, September 6. Follow this link for tickets to attend the event live at Ball Arena.
