Liam Harrison says consistency is the key to ‘staying at the top’ of Muay Thai realm for two decades
Liam Harrison believes consistency is the key to competing at the highest level for as long as possible.
If anyone would know what it takes to keep fighting the biggest names 20 years into a career, it's the 'Hitman' who has done exactly that. On Friday, September 6, Harrison's legendary run will continue when he makes his long-awaited return to the Circle for a massive Muay Thai clash with a true legend in the art of eight limbs—Seksan Or Kwanmuang.
It's been more than two years since fans last saw Liam Harrison compete inside the Circle, but after a horrific knee injury and a harrowing recovery process, his return at ONE 168: Denver is right around the corner.
Speaking with the South China Morning Post ahead of his highly anticipated clash with Seksan in The Mile High City, Harrison shared the secret to staying on top in the fight game.
"Everyone can reach the top, but staying at the top, right there, that's the hard part," Harrison said. "It's the consistency. Consistently doing it for 20 years. That's something I'm really proud of."
Previewing Liam Harrison's upcoming bout
Over the last two decades, Liam Harrison has checked a lot of Muay Thai icons off his must-fight list. Saenchai, Anuwat, Sagetdao, Tetsuya Yamato, and Masaaki Noiri just to name a few.
At ONE 168: Denver, the 'Hitman' will add another to his resume when he meets Seksan—a legend in his own right with over 200 career wins to his credit.
Making his promotional debut at the beginning of 2023, 'The Man Who Yields To No One' quickly earned the attention of ONE Championship fans by rattling off eight-straight wins, including a pair of highlight-reel KOs against Sean Clancy and Isaac Araya.
Will the 'Hitman' see his hand raised against another icon in the art of eight limbs, or will Seksan score the biggest win of his illustrious career and spoil Harrison's big comeback?
