Liam Harrison says it’s time for Jonathan Haggerty to prove himself: “He needs to beat someone who’s in their prime”

British Muay Thai icon and former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title challenger 'Hitman' Liam Harrison of the United Kingdom has been hypercritical of two-sport ONE world champion and countryman 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty.

Harrison has taken issue with Haggerty's penchant of calling out what he believes are aging fighters.

Speaking to Sky Sports MMA Club in a recent interview, Harrison says Haggerty should take on opponents his own age.

'Hitman' stated:

"Haggerty needs to beat someone who’s in their prime now, like Nico [Carrillo], like Superlek, like Rodtang for him to go to the next level."

That being said, Haggerty is set to defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title against flyweight kickboxing king 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168: Denver, which broadcasts live from the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado on Friday, September 6th.

Harrison is set to see action on the same night, as he takes on 'The Man Who Yields To No One' Seksan Or Kwanmuang.

Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action live and absolutely free on Amazon Prime Video.

'Hitman' Liam Harrison says every fight from now on is just going to add to his legacy: "I'm not interested in belts anymore"

At 38 years of age, 'Hitman' Liam Harrison has a few fights left in him before he calls it a career. At this stage, the legendary Englishman says he is done chasing world titles, and is only interested in fights that will now add to his legacy.

He told Sky Sports MMA Club:

"I’m not interested in belts anymore at this stage of my career. I’m interested in coming back, and enjoying the last year of me fighting. No pressure. I’m not bothered about fighting for titles, I just want to get back in there, get the Seksan fight locked down. I’ve got a few more exciting fights and I’m going to roll off into the sunset. Because I’ve done everything that I wanted to do."
