Liam Harrison says there is no room for thinking against ONE's most elite: "When you get in the ring, it's just reacting"

Liam Harrison believes that when it comes to getting in the ring with some of the best in the world, it's all about being present in that moment.

At the highest level of striking, the slightest of errors can prove to be the difference between victory and defeat. Everything happens so fast that if you need to take time to process what has just happened without reacting off of muscle memory alone, you're playing catch up.

Liam Harrison spoke about what it takes to be competitive under the brightest lights during a recent interview with Fight Energy Films:

"The worst thing a fighter can do is think in a fight. All your thinking should have been done in the gym. All your game plan should have been done in the gym or your thinking or your thoughts or you, how you going to do, this how you going to do that. When you get in the ring, it's just reacting, reacting to what's happening. If you take time to start thinking, 'Oh should I do this?' Bang, you've been hit with some sh*t."

Liam Harrison will put his body to the test in this way at ONE 167

For Liam Harrison, there is no debate as to whether his mind can still react as fast as he needs it to because of all the years of high-level experience that he has built up.

'Hitman' is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to striking and his muscle memory at this stage is as solid as you could possibly expect.

The test for the Brit is whether his body is going to allow him to fight how he needs to after such a long layoff due to a significant injury.

At ONE 167, Harrison will find out when he steps back in the ring to face off with Katsuki Kitano in his first fight in nearly two years.

ONE 167 will air live from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, in U.S. primetime on June 7.
