Liam Neeson belittles the UFC and rages against Conor Mcgregor for giving a bad rap to Ireland

Liam Neeson is not a fan of Conor McGregor or the UFC, and the famous Irishman even went so far as to compare the sport of mixed martial arts to bar fights. Neeson is an award-winning actor who has starred in numerous Hollywood blockbusters, including Schindler's List, Les Miserables, and The Gray.

In a recent Don't Read The Comments episode, Neeson answered some questions from his fans. In response to one of the queries asking if he watched the UFC, the actor retorted:

"UFC, I can't stand. That, to me, is like a bar fight. And I know all the practitioners say, 'No, you're wrong. The months of training we do.' Why don't you just grab a beer bottle and hit the other guy over there? That's the next stage from UFC. I hate it."

Liam Neeson went on to comment on Conor McGregor. Undoubtedly the biggest superstar in the sport, 'The Notorious' is credited for headlining five out of the six highest-earning pay-per-view events in UFC history. However, the 70-year-old doesn't like his compatriot and thinks he gives his country a bad name:

"That little leprechaun, Conor McGregor. Oh, please, he gives Ireland a bad name. I know he's fit and I admire him for that, but I can't take it."

'The Notorious' has been out of action since suffering a leg fracture in July 2021 during his fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. However, Conor McGregor has not been inactive outside the octagon and has been heavily involved in the film's production process.

According to reports, Jake Gyllenhaal will play the upcoming film's main character, a former UFC fighter who becomes a bouncer in a Florida Keys bar. While McGregor's role is still unknown, it is speculated that he was cast as 'Jimmy Reno', played by Marshall Teague in the original, as the right-hand henchman of the movie's antagonist.
