Lito Adiwang believes Jarred Brook's well-roundedness will trouble Joshua Pacio in rubber match: "Joshua will have a difficult time"
Filipino firecracker Lito Adiwang suggests Jarred Brooks' all-around ability will spell danger for Joshua Pacio when the pair unify the ONE strawweight MMA world title in a rubber match down the road.
Zeroing on how the third fight could unfold, Adiwang had this to say during an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA:
"I think Joshua [Pacio] will have a difficult time with Jarred's quickness on shooting for takedowns. Striking is also another area because Jarred has an unorthodox style. That's where I think Joshua will have a difficult time."
Brooks claimed the division's 26 pounds of gold from the Lions Nation MMA martial artist with a dominant showing in Manila, Philippines, frustrating the defending king on the feet and the canvas on his way to a comfortable unanimous decision.
Unfortunately for 'The Monkey God,' he surrendered the world title to Pacio in their rematch at ONE 166: Qatar following an accidental spike under a minute into their five-round fixture inside the Lusail Sports Arena.
Talks about an immediate trilogy hit a standstill as 'The Passion' revealed that he suffered a torn ACL that needed immediate attention only a month after their March showdown.
With Brooks clinching the interim crown against Gustavo Balart at ONE Fight Night 24 in August, a rubber match between him and Pacio isn't a matter of if anymore but when.
Stay tuned to Sportskeeda MMA for any updates on this hotly anticipated rubber match between Pacio and Brooks.
Lito Adiwang charged for a return to action: "I'm always ready"
Regardless of what happens at the top of the bracket, Lito Adiwang remains fired up to stay hot on the heels of a dance for the 26 pounds of gold.
In a separate exchange with Sportskeeda MMA, the 31-year-old striking specialist offered:
"Right after my last fight, I was kinda nervous because they might immediately pair me up for another fight, in case I wasn't ready. But now, after some time, at least, I'm okay. I'm just waiting, and I'm always ready."
Since suffering consecutive setbacks to Jeremy Miado and Brooks, 'Thunder Kid' has been on a three-match winning run against Adrian Mattheis, Miado, and Danial Williams.
