Lito Adiwang praises Jarred Brooks' 'quick pace' to go in for the kill on the canvas: "His transitions are awesome"
As a fellow contender in the talent-jammed strawweight division, Lito Adiwang has respect for the skills that Jarred Brooks brings to the table.
The current interim world champion has produced some great performances during his time in ONE Championship that have seen him climb his way to the top.
In fact, his debut in the promotion came against 'Thunder Kid' when they locked horns back in November 2021.
Despite Adiwang's best efforts to keep the fight where he wanted it, Brooks' grappling was the dominant aspect of this fight.
He continued pressing the action and secured a submission win in the second round to open his account in the division.
In a recent exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Adiwang spoke about what makes his former foe so effective on the ground.
In his opinion, it's his stubbornness and ability to constantly change his approach in order to keep opponents guessing:
"For Jarred, it's like, one, two, and three straight away. You're still thinking about your second step, but he's already in the third. His transitions are awesome in wrestling. It's like, he goes for a takedown, if he doesn't get it, he goes to the other side, and if still doesn't get that, he goes for a submission. He has a really quick pace."
Lito Adiwang wasn't the only one to find out about Jarred Brooks' skills
Fortunately for Lito Adiwang, Jarred Brooks has gone on to do great things in this weight class so it's quickly become clear just how good he is.
Aside from his disqualification loss in his rematch with Joshua Pacio, 'The Monkey God' is undefeated at strawweight in the discipline, earning five wins and securing submissions in three of them.
With Lito Adiwang now riding his own impressive winning streak with three in a row since returning from injury, perhaps we could see them run it back at some point in the future.
