Liverpool royalty Steven Gerrard roars in Riyadh, picks fellow Englishman Tyson Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk in undisputed heavyweight title bout

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard voiced his support for Tyson Fury ahead of the undisputed heavyweight championship boxing match.

Later today, history will be made when Fury and Oleksandr Usyk meet inside the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia. The must-see main event showdown will be a legacy-solidifying moment for either fighter, as whoever gets their hand raised will become the first undisputed heavyweight boxing king since 1999.

Fury vs Usyk is another contribution made by Turki Alalshikh to improve the state of professional boxing. The highly-anticipated event in Saudi Arabia will draw out various celebrities and high-profile athletes, including English Premier League great Steven Gerrard.

Gerrard did a quick interview with TNT Sports upon his arrival and had this to say about why he attended the event in person:

"Well, normally I'm an armchair supporter when it comes down to boxing. I'm a big boxing fan, but I like to watch it on TV. When it's undisputed, when it's Tyson Fury, when it's so big, when it's in Saudi, I've gotta be here, I've gotta be present to witness it."

Gerrard followed up by giving his prediction for Fury vs Usyk:

"Tyson all day long. I've been a huge fan for a very long time. I'm no boxing expert, but the size, the reach, the weight, what I've seen him do before. I think he's going to be up against a very awkward customer, we all know that, but for me, it's Tyson Fury all day long."

Who was the last undisputed heavyweight boxing world champion before Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk?

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will be the first undisputed heavyweight boxing world champion since Lennox Lewis. In November 1999, Lewis and Holyfield fought for the second time in a year after their fight was scored a draw.

This time around, Lewis emerged victorious by unanimous decision (117-111, 116-112, and 115-113).

It should be noted that Fury or Usyk won't be the undisputed king for an extended period. As reported by Dan Rafael, the winner is contractually obligated to vacate the IBF world title in a few weeks for top contenders Filip Hrgovic and Daniel Dubois, who are scheduled to fight on June 1.
