Look back at Demetrious Johnson’s grappling masterclass in his ONE Championship debut
ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson has always been known for his overall skill set and how well he is able to blend martial arts seamlessly.
On his ONE Championship debut back in 2019, Johnson arrived in the promotion with lots of hype and with good reason, given his run as the UFC flyweight world champion. If fans were unfamiliar with his skillset, then they got a good look at it during his first contest inside the Circle.
Facing off with Yuya Wakamatsu at ONE: A New Era in 2019, the Flyweight GOAT implemented his grappling with great success, flawlessly mixing up his skill sets. After securing several takedowns, Johnson’s jiu-jitsu came into play. He managed to chain together a few different positions, ultimately locking in a guillotine choke in the second round.

Demetrious Johnson has gone on to prove in each and every one of his contests in ONE Championship that he is the definition of a well-rounded mixed martial artist. Seemingly able to compete with anyone where the fight goes, with his high-level fight IQ, he is unmatched when it comes to finding an opponent’s weakness and using it to his advantage.
Johnson is set to return to the Circle at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video on May 5th at 1stBank Center in Colorado. The entire card will be broadcast live and for free on North American television via Prime Video.
Demetrious Johnson hyped to share ONE Fight Night 10 is sold out
At ONE Fight Night 10, ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson will get to compete in front of the fans in the United States once again.
After making a name for himself as one of the greatest of all time competing in the US, Johnson can’t wait to help bring ONE Championship back to his home country when the promotion makes its debut in the States on May 5th.
In the main event of ONE Fight Night 10, Demetrious Johnson will compete in one of the biggest fights of his career when he defends his world championship against Adriano Moraes in their trilogy fight.
On top of that incredible main event clash, the entire card is stacked with some of the promotion’s biggest and best names. As a result, the event has already been announced as a sell-out. On his Instagram profile, ‘DJ’ shared his own excitement ahead of ONE Fight Night 10:

Whilst North American fans can’t get tickets for the event after it sold out a few days ago, the entire card will air live and for free via Prime Video.
