Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida expresses desire to fight on ONE's first-ever U.S. card
With ONE's historic ONE Fight Night 10 looming in the wings, Brazilian grappling icon Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida is intent on fighting at the organization's first United States-held event.
The Brazilian powerhouse has been living in the U.S. for 13 years now and would love to perform in front of the fans in his second home.
The 33-year-old phenom has been utterly flawless in his MMA campaign so far, winning all four of his fights via stoppage.
In an interview with SCMP MMA, 'Buchecha' expressed his desire to get his hand raised for a fifth time on American soil:
"100 percent. I have lived in America for 13 years. I got my citizenship, so I’m half Brazilian-American now. It’s like that. So for me to fight on the U.S. card would be awesome because I have a lot of fans in the United States [and] because I’ve been fighting there for so long in my jiu-jitsu career. I have barely fought in Brazil since I moved to America."
ONE Fight Night 10 is set for May 5 and will be broadcast live from the 1stBank Center in Colorado.
