“Looking forward to hearing from you guys” - Multi-time BJJ champ Mayssa Bastos will jump on Reddit for quick AMA with fans
Mayssa Bastos may be getting ready for the biggest fight of her career, but she'll use fight week to get in touch with her fans.
The multi-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion will head to Reddit for an Ask-Me-Anything session with her fans at the r/BJJ Subreddit.
Bastos announced that her Reddit AMA goes down on July 31, Wednesday, at 7 PM Pacific Standard Time.
She wrote on her Instagram Stories:
"I am doing a question-and-answer on Reddit with @onechampionship! I will be answering questions on Wednesday, looking forward to hearing from you guys 👊👊"
Mayssa Bastos is just the latest of many ONE Championship stars who will go on Reddit to have virtual fan interactions.
Other fighters who have jumped on the platform are the Ruotolo brothers Kade and Tye, Stamp Fairtex, Jarred Brooks, Fabricio Andrade, Mikey Musumeci and Demetrious Johnson.
The 26-year-old is one of this generation's best submission grapplers and her nine BJJ world titles speak volumes to her pedigree. Bastos has earned world titles under the IBJJF, IBJJF No-Gi, and Who's Number One banners, making her one of the very best grapplers in the world.
Her upcoming match against Danielle Kelly, however, could be the one that defines her career.
Bastos will challenge Kelly for the ONE atomweight submission grappling world title in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 24 this Friday, U.S. primetime, at the historic Lumpinee Stadium.
ONE Fight Night 24 is available live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
Mayssa Bastos talks of the importance of winning ONE Championship gold
ONE Championship has been at the forefront of submission grappling's rise in the mainstream consciousness, and Mayssa Bastos knows the prestige of holding one of the promotion's world titles.
Bastos already has nine world titles to her name, yet a piece of ONE Championship gold would solidify her sporting legacy.
She told the promotion in an interview:
