Luis Alberto Lopez vs. Angelo Leo: Live round-by-round updates
Luis Alberto Lopez is scheduled to make the fourth defense of his IBF featherweight title against Angelo Leo. The event is set to go down at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 10, 2024.
Lopez laid hands on the IBF featherweight title in December 2022 with a majority decision win over two-time champion Josh Warrington. Following that win, 'El Venado' has defended his throne three times with notable wins over the likes of Michael Conlan, Joet Gonzalez, and Reiya Abe.
The Mexican boxing star faces the challenge of Leo, who is ascending with the force of a four-fight win streak. He won the vacant WBA Continental (North America) featherweight title with a knockout victory over Mike Plania in January 2024. The 30-year-old has only lost one fight in his career, losing the WBO junior featherweight title to Stephen Fulton via unanimous decision.
The main card of the event is set to go down at 10 p.m. ET, while Lopez and Leo are expected to make their way to the ring at around 11:30 p.m. ET.
