The Team Vasileus star and Rodtang were supposed to fight at ONE 165 this past January, but the Thai megastar's untimely injury forced him to withdraw from the event.

Takeru instead challenged Superlek Kiatmoo9, who recently won the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship, for the ONE flyweight kickboxing world championship. 'The Kicking Machine' successfully defended the 135-pound kickboxing crown via unanimous decision.

How Takeru captured his maiden victory in ONE Championship

Thant Zin nearly ended Takeru's night with a lightning-quick knockdown late in the first round. However, the Japanese star adjusted his strategy to take advantage of the 19-year-old's high-pressure style.

After leveling the knockdown count at one apiece with a front kick to Thant Zin's body late in round two, Takeru finished him with a lead left hook to earn his first win in ONE.
