Mark Coleman shares three-word reaction to former fighter's take on why Tony Ferguson is finding it hard to announce retirement

Mark Coleman recently shared a three-word reaction to a former fighter's take regarding Tony Ferguson's reluctance to retire from MMA. The former interim lightweight champion suffered his eighth consecutive loss and wasn't fully committed to retiring during his post-fight interview.

Former UFC welterweight Matt Brown weighed in on 'El Cucuy's' post-fight interview and press conference and noted that it is difficult to walk away from the competition. During a recent episode of The Fighter vs. The Writer, 'The Immortal' compared the high of competing in the octagon to drugs and mentioned that it's not easy to stop because it is an addictive feeling.

MMA Fighting posted the quote on their Instagram account, which sparked plenty of discussion and caught the attention of the UFC Hall of Famer. Coleman appeared to agree with Brown's comparison and shared his three-word reaction by mentioning that the thrill of competing and winning at a high level can't be replicated. He wrote:

"No high compares [prayer emoji]"

Matt Brown believes Tony Ferguson is having a difficult time accepting retirement

Matt Brown opened up about what Tony Ferguson is likely going through as he reflects on his career. He noted that he believes that the former interim lightweight champion is having a difficult time accepting retirement but should evaluate other rewarding opportunities.

During the aforementioned clip, Brown mentioned that it's important that Ferguson comes to terms with his UFC career being over and moves on as he could achieve success elsewhere. He said:

"It's like cocaine...That's what walking into an octagon and beating another man's a** [feels like], especially the way Tony [Ferguson] did where he just f***ing ripped people's souls out of their bodies. That is a high you cannot get anywhere else. In any other way. But you can't chase that. You've got to accept that was the season of your life and it's time to move onto a new season."
