Zuckerberg's comment was a callback to Hooker's interview at UFC 290, where 'The Hangman' locked horns against Jalin Turner in July 2023. The fight took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The bout took place at catchweight (158 pounds) as Turner had missed weight. During the bout, the New Zealander sustained an injury in his arm but managed to make it to the end of the bout.

The fight went to the judges scorecards and Hooker got his hand raised via split decision. The three judges scored the bout 28-29, 29-28 and 29-28 in favor of 'The Hangman'.

In his post-fight octagon interview, UFC commentator Joe Rogan asked Hooker about the injury. The New Zealander responded by saying it was nothing but a scratch.
