Marvin Vettori explains N-word tweet at Dricus du Plessis after "racist" allegations: "He is white, how does that even make sense"

Marvin Vettori recently issued an explanation for his N-word tweet reacting to Dricus du Plessis mocking Brendan Allen's UFC Paris loss against Nassourdine Imavov. Vettori pushed back on the "racist" narrative, stating that he didn't believe the word held any power today.

After Imavov outpointed Allen at UFC Paris last weekend, the reigning middleweight champion reacted to 'All In' losing via a derisive X post. Given Vettori's history with Allen, it's no surprise that the Italian was happy to see his rival getting mocked and expressed his support for du Plessis via another tweet:

"Maa ni**a."

Unsurprisingly, Vettori was widely slammed for using the racial slur given his Italian ethnicity and heritage. After many questioned his use of the derogatory term, he later issued an explanation and dismissed having any "racist" intentions. In an X post, he wrote:

"Chill out everyone I just meant maa guy kind of. He is white, how does that even make sense? All this racist thing is BS. Definitely, many people I don’t like, but it’s never based on race or color, lol. Also, I don’t believe in this word power."

Marvin Vettori calls out Brendan Allen and three others for comeback fight

Marvin Vettori recently called out Brendan Allen for a fight and extended his challenge to Nassourdine Imavov, Sean Strickland, and Caio Borralho. Given that there's no love lost between Vettori and Allen, it's hardly surprising to see the Italian eyeing a matchup against the American.

After the PFL 8 event at the Hard Rock Casino in August, Vettori and Allen got into a brawl after 'The Italian Dream' swung at George Tokkos. Allen didn't take kindly to Vettori's actions and stepped in to throw a quick 1-2 that made the Italian stumble backward onto a roulette table. Everyone was ultimately separated and a larger, wider brawl breaking out was prevented.

In light of their rivalry, Vettori recently called out Allen via social media, predicting that 'All In' wouldn't go past the second round against him. In an X post, he wrote:

"I need a come back fight with this b*m Allen, two handed he doesn’t go past two orounds then Imavov, Borralho or even Strickland can get it too."
