Masked burglars attack home of woman in legal dispute with UFC star Conor McGregor
A woman who is seeking a personal damages claim against UFC star Conor McGregor has survived a harrowing ordeal after it was reported that masked burglars had broken into her home last week.
In the early hours of last Friday morning in Dublin, the woman, who was at home with her partner and child, was awoken when three masked burglars forcibly entered their home.
Per Extra.ie, the burglars made their way upstairs to the woman's bedroom where they were met with her partner who attempted to fight them off. After being pushed back and hit in the face, he managed to force the intruders back downstairs but received a stab wound to his stomach in the chaos.
The injuries have later been confirmed to have been non-life threatening.
Details of the woman's case against McGregor, which was filed three years ago, also remain a mystery to the public as nothing has been aired in open court yet.
Conor McGregor has fiercely denied all allegations against him, however, and a new court date has been set for November. It's also not believed the burglary is in any relation to the woman's case against the Irishman.
Discussing the incident and the court case, the woman's solicitor, David Coleman, spoke to the press and said:
"I absolutely can’t comment as there is a case before the courts." [H/t Extra.ie]
Conor McGregor breaks silence following news he is injured and out of UFC 303
Conor McGregor has provided his reaction after it was confirmed by Dana White that he was out of his headliner clash against Michael Chandler later this month.
'The Notorious' had been expected to make his highly anticipated return against Chandler on June 29 to round off International Fight Week. McGregor, who was returning to the octagon after a three-year injury lay-off, had previously broken his leg against Dustin Poirier in 2021.
Whilst details about the injury and whether it's a reoccurence of a leg issue remain speculative, McGregor took to social media to express his disappointment that his fight has had to be pushed back. He wrote:
"Very tough to be ruled out of my scheduled return bout. I picked up an injury prior to the press conference that required more time to heal than was available to me. The decision to postpone the fight was not made lightly, but one made in consultation with my doctors, the UFC, and my team. My fans and opponent deserve me at my best for this fight and we will get there! Thank you for the messages of support, I am in good spirits and confident I’ll be back! ☘️"
