Matchroom Boxing CEO names potential next opponent for Jake Paul, talks about the American's WWE-like boxing career
Matchroom boxing CEO Frank Smith recently shared his thoughts on Jake Paul's boxing career, and had an opponent in mind for the American to face next.
Paul recently picked up the biggest win of his professional boxing career so far when he defeated Mike Tyson via unanimous decision. Despite the pair promising a violent conclusion to the fight, Tyson tired quickly and 'The Problem Child' was happy enough to fight at range and cruise to victory.
Their bout was livestreamed on Netflix, marking the platform's first-ever live combat sports event. Their contest also shattered records, with the platform later revealing the fight had become the most streamed global event with over 108 million live viewers.
Following his win over Tyson, Paul has left his future open, with him also suggesting his next fight may see him compete in MMA under the PFL banner.
According to Frank Smith, however, he'd like to see Jake Paul continue his run in boxing and has a number of opponents in mind. Speaking in a recent interview with The Stomp Ground, Smith suggested Paul face former boxing heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko or British boxing great Tony Bellew. He said:
"I would rather see Klitschko vs. Jake Paul [next]. Imagine the job Klitschko would do on Jake Paul. Bellew, that would [also] be a great fight. Bellew would absolutely destroy him. All respect to Paul though for what he's done. He's an entertainer, it's like WWE. It's not real boxing let's be honest but respect for what he's done as a business."

Chael Sonnen slams boxers calling out Jake Paul following Mike Tyson victory
Chael Sonnen has admitted he isn't a fan of the string of boxers that have called out Jake Paul after his unanimous decision win over Mike Tyson.
Speaking in a video on his YouTube channel, 'The American Gangster' highlighted that when Paul was just starting out in boxing and seeking fights against the biggest boxing stars, a number of them declined to face him. Now, however, after a win over 'Iron Mike', there's seemingly a long list of those now interested in the former Disney channel star. Sonnen said:
"I'm hearing a number of boxers today. Like, boxers had no b*lls for years and all of a sudden today they've all found their b*lls and they want to fight Jake Paul. Jake was looking for opponents...calling for opponents...And so, I believe Jake, I believe he wants. What I don't believe is these people that are calling him out. I question their sincerity. I question do you want it or are you willing to do it? There's a huge difference."
