Max Holloway appears to confirm Justin Gaethje’s claim of having the most dense bones in the UFC
Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway went to war as part of a stacked UFC 300 card on April 13 in one of the best fights of 2024 so far.
The pair battled it out for the BMF title, with Holloway securing the belt with one-second left in Round 5 after knocking his opponent out cold. 'The Highlight', who is known for having some of the most devastating leg kicks in MMA history, was unable to inflict the damage he had hoped on 'Blessed'.
But during the Hawaiian's recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, he mentioned how hard Gaethje's bones were while discussing the brutal kicking power he possesses.
Holloway's observation appeared to confirm a claim made by 'The Highlight' during his appearance on the JRE in 2020, where he stated that he had the most dense bones in the UFC on record.
The former featherweight champion said this during his recent JRE appearance:
"His bones, I don't know what they were made out of. I think titanium. I like to say my chin is made out of vibranium. He had a vibranium leg... My shin is still bruised."

Following his interim title victory over Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 in 2020, 'The Highlight' appeared on the JRE, where he said this:
"I've got dense bones. I've got the densest bones in the UFC... They said they can't confirm or deny that I've got the densest bones in the UFC... They have dexascan at the UFC Performance Institute."

Justin Gaethje provides a timeline for his return to competition
Justin Gaethje suffered a vicious knockout at the hands of Max Holloway at the much anticipated UFC 300 event on April 13.
It was without doubt the most brutal finish 'The Highlight' has suffered in his career, and as such, he appears to be taking the necessary time to let his brain recover before returning.
Given his position as the No.1 contender for Islam Makhachev's lightweight title prior to his loss to Holloway, it would be natural for the former BMF title holder to want to get back in the win column as soon as possible.
But during a recent interview with Dan LeBatard, he said this:
"I want to stay active. Obviously the physical contact is going to be limited for quite some time, just because I want to preserve myself. ... I think six months, at least, before I get back to taking shots. But that doesn’t say that I wont be training the whole time."
