"Maybe she liked Ciryl Gane’s body more” - Alexander Volkov slams female judge Adalaide Byrd for controversial scorecard at UFC 310
Alexander Volkov has slammed judge Adalaide Byrd for her scorecard in his fight against Ciryl Gane at UFC 310. The pair went all three rounds, with many fans and pundits believing the Russian fighter to have won the fight 2-1 on the cards. But surprise washed over the T-Mobile Arena, including Gane, as his name was read out as the winner.
Volkov was met by UFC CEO Dana White as he left the octagon, with White sharing his own displeasure with the judges' scorecards.
Following the event, 'Drago' appeared in front of the media where he took aim at Byrd, saying this:
"[Dana White] said, sorry for my English, I was f**ked over by the judges. Something kind of like this. I appreciated it. The boss of the UFC saw everything with his own eyes and they had a similar opinion [to me]."
He continued:
"The women who, I don't know if she's working on her skills to judge the fights or if she just sometimes comes to watch the fight because she likes to and give the victory to whoever she likes. Maybe she liked Ciryl Gane's body more, I don't know."

"Frustrated" Ciryl Gane reflects on win over Alexander Volkov
Ciryl Gane secured a split-decision win over Alexander Volkov at UFC 310. But upon reflection, the former interim champion has shared frustration with his performance.
'Bon Gamin' also revealed that he had picked up an injury to his toe with the first teep kick he threw in the fight, which was a major cause of his frustration. With Gane being a striking-based fighter, his compromised movement forced him to alter his gameplan against one of the division's best fighters.
The Frenchman appeared in front of the media following his win over Volkov, where he discussed the fight, saying:
"I was frustrated with my fight because of [my injury]. I was frustrated because I started my training in July for this fight. And to start your fight like this, the first second you land [and your toe gets injured]... I tried to push on my toes [but I couldn't]. So this changed a lot of my mindset. I was frustrated about that."
