Mayssa Bastos reveals mid-fight adjustment that got her the win over Danielle Kelly: “I was trying to be aggressive”

Mayssa Bastos is feeling like she's over the moon, and she has a good reason.

The multi-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion reached another milestone in her decorated career by defeating Danielle Kelly to become the new ONE atomweight submission grappling queen at ONE Fight Night 24.

But Bastos didn't have it easy, as Kelly was very aggressive since the start of their 10-minute matchup. She had to overcome that aggression with her own, as she told Sportskeeda MMA after the dust settled last weekend.

She said:

"I think I was chasing a lot. I was trying to be aggressive, and like you said, I think I had more catches than her."

With that, Bastos is now ready to embark on a new adventure as the divisional queen:

"I'm ready for everyone. Whoever ONE wants me to fight, I'll be willing to fight."

After their grueling duel with a fair share of drama, non-stop action and world-class submission grappling skills, it is certain that Bastos' next challenge would not be an easy one.
