“Miado has the edge in this fight” - Lito Adiwang backs Jeremy Miado for success vs. Hiroba Minowa at ONE Fight Night 23

Having gone toe-to-toe with both Jeremy Miado and Hiroba Minowa, Lito Adiwang believes he's more than qualified to assess their highly anticipated clash at ONE Fight Night 23.

Emanating from the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, fight fans in Thailand and those watching live on Amazon Prime Video in the U.S. and Canada will see a high-stakes strawweight MMA scrap as both Miado and Minowa look to snap three-fight losing skids and establish themself as a legitimate contender in one of ONE's most loaded divisions.

Having fought No.4-ranked Minowa before and sharing the Circle with Jeremy Miado for a pair of instant classics, Lito Adiwang offered his take on the matchup —specifically, who will have the advantage on the feet.

“As someone who’s faced both fighters and has experienced their strengths, I believe Miado has the edge in this fight," Adiwang told ONE Championship. "Their striking aren’t in the same atmosphere.”

As it stands, Minowa is the fourth-ranked contender in the strawweight MMA division. A win over Miado is likely to do little in terms of moving him up the ladder, but if he loses, 'The Jaguar' will likely push him out altogether and solidify himself as a legitimate contender in the loaded strawweight MMA division.

Looking back at Lito Adiwang's history with Hiroba Minowa and Jeremy Miado

Lito Adiwang came up on the wrong side of a split decision against Hiroba Minowa at ONE: Inside the Matrix III in 2020.

However, he bounced back with a couple of big wins over Namiki Kawahara and Hexigetu.

Unfortunately, that's where his streak ended as he suffered a second-round submission loss against former ONE strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks.

Two of Adiwang's next three fights came against Jeremy Miado, the first being at the promotion's 10th-anniversary showcase ONE X in March 2022, where he went down in the second round via TKO when Adiwang suffered a devastating knee injury.

Adiwang evened the series with 'The Jaguar' roughly a year and a half later, earning a unanimous decision at ONE Fight Night 16. Adiwang's victory over Miado came amid a three-fight win streak that he is still sitting on.

If Miado scores a W against Minowa inside the Mecca of Muay Thai, perhaps we will finally see the long-awaited trilogy bout. Then again, maybe not.
