Michael Bisping reacts to Nate Diaz suing Fanmio over reported $9 million in unpaid dues for Jorge Masvidal fight: "These things aren't cheap"

Michael Bisping recently voiced his opinion on Nate Diaz's fraud lawsuit after Fanmio refused to pay the contract money. Bisping felt bad for Diaz because the latter kept his half of the agreement but did not get paid.

Diaz claimed that Solomon Engel, the CEO of Fanmio, neglected to give him the $10 million he was promised for his boxing match versus Jorge Masvidal on July 6. The UFC icon alleged that he was still owed $9 million for his boxing match and wasn't made whole despite fulfilling his end of the contract.

Earlier this week, Diaz filed a lawsuit against Fanmio for his pending payment. In a recent episode of the Believe You Me podcast, Bisping discussed Diaz's situation with co-host Anthony Smith. He said:

''It’s a really shi*ty situation for Nate Diaz. He upheld his end of the bargain. He did the training, sold the fight, went out there and competed, put on an absolute classic, and then doesn’t get paid.”

He added:

“Not to mention the fact that it’s going to cost a fortune to sue the guy. These things aren’t cheap."

Smith asked Bisping what he would do in this case. The former UFC middleweight champion, who was once in a similar situation before, responded:

''Winning a lawsuit is one thing, collecting from a lawsuit is very, very different. The amount of people that actually get paid, or even get a judgement or an award, is very, very, low, I believe. And certainly in a position like this, a boxing promoter, they can just absolve the business, declare bankrupt — that’s it, you’re done.'' [H/t: MMA Fighting]

The Fanmio CEO issued a statement hours after the lawsuit and dismissed the breach of contract claims, saying:

''Nate Diaz has filed a frivolous lawsuit against Fanmio which claims that fraud and breach of contract were committed by Fanmio, yet neither has taken place... I look forward to resolving this dispute through the appropriate process and am confident that justice will prevail.''

Michael Bisping praises Nate Diaz's performance against Jorge Masvidal

Nate Diaz made his boxing comeback earlier this month by defeating Jorge Masvidal via majority decision in a highly anticipated boxing match. Diaz's first professional boxing victory came after a disappointing loss against Jake Paul last year.

Michael Bisping analyzed the fight on his YouTube channel and noted a significant difference in Diaz's strategy between the two fights:

“When you look at Nate Diaz and the way that he performed against Jake Paul, I thought it was going to be a bad night for Nate Diaz, but I was wrong. He came in motivated, in-shape, and super aggressive from the very get-go.” [H/t: MMA Junkie]
