Michael Chandler shares prediction for how he will defeat Charles Oliveira at UFC 309: "I've actually envisioned that"

Michael Chandler recently predicted how he will defeat Charles Oliveira at UFC 309. He noted that he is planning to make an emphatic statement and has envisioned defeating the Brazilian.

'Iron' and 'Do Bronx' are set to compete in the co-main event, which will be a rematch of their UFC 262 encounter. Oliveira earned a second-round TKO in their first bout, but it was a close call as his durability and resilience were tested. The first round saw Chandler drop the Brazilian, but he was unable to finish him to become the lightweight champion.

During his latest appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, the 38-year-old outlined his path to victory and shared his prediction for what will transpire in their rematch. 'Iron' has been known for his exciting fights, especially since joining the UFC and plans on delivering on Saturday night. Chandler made it clear that he will be aiming for a knockout win and mentioned that he intends to finish Oliveira:

"So, I've actually envisioned that a couple different times. I don't know if it's gonna be a right hand, left hook, what it's gonna be. But Charles Oliveira is gonna be separated from consciousness, I believe... 100% [I think it's going to happen]."

Michael Chandler discloses whether he was bothered by rumour that Charles Oliveira rematch was in jeopardy

In addition to sharing his prediction for what he believes the outcome will be for his rematch against Charles Oliveira, Michael Chandler disclosed whether he was bothered by a rumour that the fight was in jeopardy.

During the aforementioned appearance, Chandler mentioned that the rumour didn't faze him at all and alluded to it possibly being an attempt at mind games by Oliveira:

"I went through a year-and-a-half of a layoff, 10 weeks of training for Conor [McGregor], 13 days before the fight, the fight gets canceled. So maybe there was some internal gamesmanship going on there, 'Hey, let's leak this thing that maybe the fight's off again. Let's get Chandler freaked out'... It did not affect me whatsoever."
