Michael 'Venom' Page trashes Ian Garry ahead of UFC 303 clash, calls him "bad BBL version" of Conor McGregor

English MMA superstar Michael 'Venom' Page is set to face undefeated UFC welterweight prospect Ian Garry at UFC 303 on June 29. It will be Page's second UFC bout, following his successful promotional debut at UFC 299 last March.

Ahead of his bout with Garry, 'Venom' showcased his playful and cheeky side by having some choice words to describe his Irish opponent. In an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Page said:

“I think he di*krides Conor McGregor. He’s like the fake version of Conor McGregor. Like if Conor McGregor was a natural pretty woman, Ian’s like the BBL version that’s just a bad BBL version. BBL Garry.”

Page didn't offer the meaning of BBL so for those who don't know, BBL stands for Brazilian Butt Lift - a popular cosmetic surgery or beauty enhancement procedure. Judging from his trail of thought, Page may have been comparing Garry to an augmented version of Conor McGregor - looks like it, but not quite the real thing.

Michael 'Venom' Page spoke about Nick Diaz's return in August

In the same interview, Ariel Helwani mentioned that MMA legend and former Strikeforce world champion Nick Diaz reportedly asked to fight Michael 'Venom' Page after UFC 299.

The bout didn't come to fruition as both fighters eventually got slated to fight other fighters. Diaz will now make his long-awaited return to action at UFC Abu Dhabi against Vicente Luque on August 3.

When asked if a bout with the legendary Stockton native interests him, Page said:

"100%. Just for the fans, to make some noise. That's a great one on his return. I can't say I'm not a supporter of [the Diaz] brothers, man. So seeing him come back is great. To be able to welcome him back would have been great as well."

Page continued:

"Maybe next fight. Let's see how he does with Vicente Luque. He has to get one back now as well coz he just lost. So yeah, let's see how that pans out."

Diaz last saw action in a losing effort against Robbie Lawler at UFC 266 in September 2021. The bout was his grand return to competition after a six-year hiatus from the sport. He lost via TKO.
