Mike Perry issues apology after bodycam footage catches him making homophobic slurs at cop during DUI arrest
Mike Perry recently got himself in serious trouble when he was caught hurling homophobic comments at a cop while getting arrested for driving under influence. Perry has accepted responsibility for his actions and apologized, saying he regretted his behavior and that such actions would not be repeated.
In the bodycam footage released by TMZ Sports, Perry was seen throwing homophobic comments at the Clermont Police officials after being initially pulled over for speeding in Clermont, Florida. The former UFC fighter was asked to perform sobriety exercises, but his refusal led to his arrest for DUI as he was visibly intoxicated. While in handcuffs, Perry was spotted saying to his partner Latory Gonzalez:
"Latory, I'm getting arrested because I'm not doing this bullsh*t sobriety test so just relax, honey, I'll be home. I'll be home soon. They know exactly who I am. They're f**king mad. F**k these f**gots, couple of f**ggots."

''I am writing this to express my deepest apologies for the inappropriate and disrespectful language I used towards members of the Clermont police department. I understand that my words were hurtful and offensive, and I sincerely regret my actions. I recognize the important and often difficult work that law enforcement officers do to keep our community safe, and I truly respect the dedication and sacrifice that comes with the job.''
Perry added:
''My behavior was inexcusable, and I take full responsibility for my actions. Please know that this incident does not reflect how I truly feel about the [Police Department/Officers], and I will make every effort to ensure this type of behavior never happens again. I hope you can accept my apology as sincere, and I will be more mindful and respectful in the future. Thank you for your time and consideration.''
Conor McGregor adresses Mike Perry's future in BKFC
Mike Perry received a lot of criticism from Conor McGregor after his sixth-round knockout loss to Jake Paul in a boxing match this July. McGregor even stated that Perry had been sacked from BKFC.
However, after a prominent fighter in the organization called out Perry, McGregor changed his mind and stated in an interview with The Schmo that he is willing to give the 33-year-old another shot:
''Mike [Perry] is fired, but we’re in negotiations. [Dave] ‘Redneck’ Mundell called him out. He’s been afraid of Mundell. We had to give him a little cherry-pick-made title, ‘The King of Violence’ or whatever you call it, but he was never a world champion. And he’s afraid of Dave ‘Redneck’ Mundell. He’s called him out now; let’s see what Perry responds.''
